Calligraphy Printed Scarf
You have already seen manteaus with Persian calligraphy print here and here. Now, here is a beautiful yellow scarf with the same kind of print. I like how it is worn to show off the writing on it and her blonde hair at the same time! I would love to see pics involving scarves with English writing on them, but apart from brand name logos, I have not seen those yet.
Shopping Savage :-)
This is an excerpt from a recent Reuters article talking about how the kinds of girls shown in this blog live.
“Several new shopping malls packed with designer boutiques have just opened in Tehran…..Shiny vehicles clog the streets.
The “nouveaux riches” live a trendy life in Iran…..
Unlike in other countries under sanctions, the streets of Tehran and other big cities are full of designer stores and advertisements for Rolex and Chanel watches, Dupont pens, Massimo Dutti and Gucci clothes.
“Iran is the best country to live in. I used to travel to Paris and Dubai to do shopping but now I can even buy Louis Vuitton bags here in Tehran,” said Samira Shafeghat, 38, whose husband is a foodstuff importer and has developed successful businesses using links to the state.
Sitting in a luxury restaurant which charges a $100 entrance fee – a quarter of a teacher’s monthly salary — Samira said she was worried that sanctions may make it hard for her to travel to Paris for her monthly haircut.
The government is trying to reform the economy by allowing more private businesses to open.
“We have licenses. We import our products legally and through customs,” said the owner of a Benetton clothing shop in central Tehran, who also asked not to be named. “It is nice to know powerful people.” “
Here are photos accompanying the article, showing off stylish Northern girls shopping in European boutiques, some of which are indeed sponsored by the government that hates them at the same time, to act as a “pressure outlet” for rebellion.
A girl in the “student uniform”, black manteau, pushed back snood, and white flats, is looking at shoes in the Geox store. A typical stylish white Northern skyscraper is in the background.
Surrounded by more Northern skyscrapers is the Mango store. Note the dress manteaus being sold in the window- a brown patterned one with dark cuffs worn with leggings, and a white asymmetrical hem worn with skinny jeans. A girl in a black manteaus and flower-printed pashmina that is opened to show all of her face and hair is looking at the dress manteaus.
Finally, there is the Benetton store and the girl looking at it is wearing an Adidas jacket over a manteau and a grey scarf that is worn as a ribbon, from which copious golden curls flow out the front, back, and sides! And note her typical heavy Northern make-up! Love it!

Open Coat Over Tunic
This is what I like to call a “double manteau” outfit, involving a grey tunic top with print and a black hem, over which an open black button-down “summer coat” tunic is worn. Since I have a multitude of longer tunic-like tops and lots of good manteaus as well, this is one style I do often! (And if you wear a sweater coat or trench coat over this, you’ll be in “triple manteau” territory, which I have occasionally done in the winter!). Grey fitted pants, black heels, and a black scarf worn to form a round halo to frame the face complete this elegant outfit.
Sheer White Flowing Manteaus
To continue (somewhat) with the poncho manteau theme of the previous post, here are two more flowing manteaus, made of sheer white gauze-like fabric. In this case, they are worn over long sleeve tops (one black, one white) and accessorized by a black scarf on the left and a red scarf with tassels and matching red bag on the right. For a more summery, modern interpretation of this style, buy a sheer white tunic and wear it over a low-cut tank top or tube top and drape a scarf around the neck and shoulders!
Blue Checkered Poncho Manteau
I just love the poncho manteaus! One of my favorite stores is actually currently selling tons of long ponchos for fall in all sorts of patterns, including the various Burberry-style plaids and houndstooth (in which I have a regular-length poncho). While they are expensive and not fit for my current job, since I have to wear a lab coat almost all day, I do love them as part of the manteau fashion, and the one below is not an exception. The blonde woman wears a beautiful blue, white, and green poncho manteau with fringed edges, jeans, white flats, and a dark blue scarf to match the poncho.
Manteau Mood 21
This girl wears a classic tightly fitted black tunic manteau with jeans and a bright silver scarf, which is draped half-open over a tall auburn cone hairstyle. I love how her glossy eyeshadow completely matches the color of the scarf!
Manteau, Snood, and a Turquoise Necklace
The basic ensemble of black button-down manteau with jeans, flats, and a pushed back snood is made more cheerful by a beautiful turqouise pendant with smaller stones hanging off of it. I have a much smaller turquoise necklace myself and will try wearing it with my black tunic in the future.
Manteau Ambiance 45
Now we’re back to our original scheduled programming
, which is a huge backlog of 2010 new manteau photos, so let us begin with this one. I love these two girls’ outfits, especially the one on the left, because I have a sleeveless beige tunic myself that I wear over long-sleeved tops. I also love how the black scarf is moved far back and the gold hair ribbon highlights her towering hairstyle! The girl on the right stays cool in a classic beige manteau worn with matching bag, scarf, and crystal bracelet!
Green Lovers
They’ve got it all- green scarf around the neck on him, white manteau and heavily pushed back snood on her, huge rocks to throw at the oppressive forces, and hands linked in a show of love and resistance against the filthy regime. Green is the true color of love- love for democracy and sexual culture, love for human rights and elevated values! And I am standing with them forever!
Jaw Dropping Manteau Style 20
Well, the “jaw dropping manteaus” have now finally come to the end with these last two beautiful outfits. On the left, there is a vision of perfection in an ultra-short, black satin jacket-length coat cinched with a wide leather belt and paired with white pants and scarf, from which gorgeous golden strands flow freely. On the right, the brunette with blond streaks in her hair and heavy Northern-style make-up wears a soft white dress manteau with matching pants and scarf. This photo affirms how glamorous and sexy true manteau style is!
