Short Houndstooth and Olive Coats
The olive coat on the left looks more like a short military-style jacket with another (but also very short) black tunic worn underneath. The girl also wears a loose scarf, dramatic eye make-up, skinny jeans, and Converse shoes with it- this is a conventional “punk/indie/emo” manteau style. On the right is a striking outfit involving a short, black and white houndstooth, puffy coat with black pockets and belt. I love this pattern, and manteaus in this pattern are always stunning! Also, her jeans are tucked into white either fabric or furry boots, which I adore as well (I have both kinds).
Grocery Shopping in a Grey Asymmetric Manteau
The manteau in the foreground is a very dark grey, with a sharply raised asymmetrical hem panel in the front and two rows of huge silver buttons down the front. Add to this a scarf (dark grey or olive green) worn so loose that the whole hairstyle can be seen, and you have one amazing outfit (not quite “defiance in the grocery store”, but very good as well).
Grey Pleated and Classic Black Coats
Both redheads in this photo are phenomenally beautiful, and their coats are amazing too! My personal preference is with the grey tunic with pleating on the puffy elbow-length sleeves. The black coat is a simple manteau style classic made lively by a purple scarf covered in rhinestones.
Black and Grey Star Print Poncho Coat
The square/rectangular poncho manteau is still around, as evident from the photo below. This one is black with grey star print on the front and ribbon decorating the sleeve openings, paired with black pants and black loosely draped scarf.
Purple Sleeveless Manteau with Pink and White Long-Sleeved Top
Sleeveless tunics are great, even though I never bought one. I would wear it with my arms bare in the summer and with a top underneath in the fall//winter, like this girl. This purple sleeveless manteau is worn with a pink and white tie-dyed long-sleeved top, grey pants, sneakers, and a grey (and very warm!) wool scarf that shows her short auburn hairstyle.
Scarves Down with Crimson and Striped Coats
This pic has appeared once on the blog, but I think the girls in it are so beautiful and daring that I am posting it again! On the left, a gorgeous blonde with beautiful “Northern-style” make-up rocks a crimson manteau with faded jeans and a pink pashmina wrapped around the neck and shoulders. On the right, an equally stunning redhead wears a short black and white striped tunic with a black skinny belt and sleeves lifted up using buttons and straps (a feature of many American tunics), jeans, and a turquoise pashmina wrapped around the shoulders. I am proud to say I own tunics in the same colors and wears my pashminas around the neck with them in the same style as these girls!
Blonde in a Black Plaid Coat
This brand new photo features a very beautiful girl, whose “double scarfing” (black fabric one loosely worn up and white knit one wrapped around the neck) doesn’t impede her from showing off her gorgeous blond hair! I also like her black-on-black plaid coat. In fact, she looks a little bit like myself in some ways…maybe that is why I like this photo so much.
Bibigol 2012: An Introduction
A few days ago, I had seen a beautiful purple manteau on the Manto Saina website (which had not been updated for a long time)..but when I went there today, the photo had been taken off! The Manto Khatere website has not been updated in a LONG time either. However, I did find a new manteau website in the same vein as the two above- Bibigol Co. Despite its slightly funny-sounding name, the coats on the site are beautiful, and what I love the most about the site is that it uses mannequins with normal hairstyles (no scarves anywhere!)- this is exactly how I would rock manteau style!
Here is one coat from Bibigol to get started- this one is also in purple, albeit a light mauve-ish shade. It’s a basic trench coat with a soft belt, pockets, and straps to regulate sleeve length.
The light purple color of this manteau reminds me of the beautiful purple shades so popular in 2010. I wish this color came back into manteau fashions- it was great!
There will be more Bibigol coats posted here soon…
Kurta Manteau by the Sea
This is a kurta-style short manteau with slits at the sides and blue embroidery on the chest panel being worn at a Caspian resort. The kurta is worn with jeans and a pink and white silk scarf tied low, and the style is looking as good as ever.
Buying Candy in a Green Plaid Scarf
This girl is buying red heart-shaped candies which is appropriate considering Valentine’s Day happened recently. I can’t see a lot of her black manteau, but I do like her green “Burberry plaid”-like silk scarf, which is not tied very low but still shows off hair (in addition her sunglasses are placed on her head to pull the scarf back even more). Plus, she’s got blue nail polish!
