Grey Open Manteau with Silver Foil Print Top

This is one of the best styles from the copious Tooring 360 collection of photos from 2010 which I’ve been posting (and which still does not end). The photo seems to be taken on a Caspian resort boat, and the fashion is incredible. The fitted grey manteau is worn unbuttoned, showing off a blue top with silver foil print, fashionably ripped jeans, and matching grey flat shoes. The black scarf is held up by a tall hairstyle, and the spray tan and pink nail polish are classic Northern style. Add to this some hip-hop inspired gestures (which are perfect for manteau style since both promote societal defiance of oppression), and you have an incredible outfit!

Super Short Sweater – 2 Views

How’s THAT for defiant style? Amazing, huh? I LOVE IT!

Just in case you didn’t get it from the front, here’s the back of the outfit- it’s just a super-short beige woolen sweater, of regular sweater length (not a tunic or a dress), worn with fitted jeans and a black scarf that shows off lots of blond hair. That’s what I call expressing yourself!

The Classic Houndstooth Scarf

Houndstooth is one of my favorite prints ever, and it always looks nice in any style, including with manteaus. There have been some houndstooth coats featured on occasion, and even a houndstooth scarf now and then. The scarf below is yet another houndstooth one, in the classic black and white incarnation, draped loosely over a black trench coat worn with black pants on the wintery sea shore. This one never goes out of style!

Manteau with Leg Warmers

Just a few days ago, I had posted a 2012 picture which involved a girl in manteau with what looked like leg warmers here. Now, here’s a pic from 2010 of a girl rocking very stylish, grey knit, tall leg warmers with manteau style..and not only that but doing so with tight black leggings! Her black jacket is open to show a knit light blue long hoodie, and her black knit scarf hangs down loosely to show off golden hair lifted off her forehead. Overall, this is an instant manteau style classic!

Open Scarf and a Very Fitted Beige Coat

It’s one of those amazing rebellious outfits I love so much, the outfits that define what true manteau style is all about! The black scarf is so narrow that it is only a decorative strip at the top of the head, which then coils around the neck, and the girl’s dark brown hair is fully seen through the back. Her beige manteau is short-sleeve, worn over a black long-sleeve top, and very fitted, being cinched at the waist with a belt.

Very Low-Cut Purple Dress Manteau

To understand why I adore sexy manteau style, just look at the dress manteau below. This purple striped tunic with a high waist encircled by a rhinestone band boasts an impressively low-cut neckline- one of the lowest I’ve ever seen on a manteau. Of course, a white long sleeve top is worn underneath it. This sort of layering is very familiar to me, as I own many low-cut tops, and in the winter, as well as when I am at work or in an official place, I also layer them over a monochromatic, cotton, long-sleeve or 3/4-sleeve top (black and white are the best colors for this). (When I am in an unofficial place or going out in the summer, I wear them “as is” and enjoy the reactions). A thin light purple patterned scarf is wrapped rather loosely, so that the hair can be seen.

Plaid Scarf in the Snow

Not much to say about this picture- just a mom playing in the snow with her son, looking very happy and proving that the Burberry pattern scarf is still a huge part of manteau style. Her parka manteau is unzipped most of the way down, and I don’t see another manteau under it- just looks like a top and jeans to me.

Orange, Pink, and Black

These are the three manteaus shown in this group photo, and they are all awesome in their own ways! The orange one has a slightly pleated skirt. The pink (more of a dusty rose shade) one has short sleeves (a white long-sleeved top is worn underneath). The black one is a dress manteau that is asymmetrical, with a long panel at the side extending far below the knee, while the rest of the coat is cut high above the knee. (This one is my personal favorite). All three are worn with black snoods pushed back (of course) and jeans.

“Cat’s Eye” Shades and Manteaus

The “cat’s eye”-shaped sunglasses were huge with manteau style briefly in 2005-06. They were most often white-rimmed, as can be seen below on the girl in the green manteau with the tall hair cone. (Also note that the girl in the orange manteau actually pairs it with a skirt!)

They are also present in the pic below on the girl at right, with light blue rims.

After 2005, these sunglasses disappeared from manteau style….or did they? Here is a 2011 pic showing that the cat’s eye shades made a comeback. The outfits have gotten even better, as in more daring, with this girl wearing a black open cardigan over a bright patterned t-shirt, with blond hair showing out the front of a huge black scarf that is simply thrown on top of the hair (not tied or wrapped).

Diagonal Stripe Print Dress Manteau

I love the unique diagonal multicolored (blue, brown, black, and turquoise are just some of the colors) print on this gorgeous dress manteau with tight, slightly puffy, elbow-length sleeves, encircled by a wide blue belt. The turquoise scarf the girl wears is a narrow strip that highlights her gorgeous blond hair!
